Gold Filled Jewellery
Firstly, you will need to take the sea-glass/pendant off the chain. If the pendant has gold/silver leaf it cannot be washed, due to how delicate it is. Please take care when handling a glass pendant as it could chip or break.
- Do not wear your gold filled chain in the sea, swimming pools or hot-tubs as the salt water and chlorine will cause damage to the gold.
- Keep your gold filled necklace as dry as possible and away from humidity! Make sure you store it individually in it's original packaging, as rubbing against other jewellery can cause it to lose it's sparkle.
- Avoid wearing your gold filled jewellery when cleaning. Exposure to heavy detergents and cleaning agents can be detrimental.
- Be mindful that perfume, hairspray and hand/body lotions may tarnish your gold filled jewellery, due to the harsh chemicals they contain.
- Gently wipe your gold filled chain with a jewellery polishing, non-scratch cloth every now and again to promote shine.
- Excessive touching of gold filled jewellery, whether by yourself or other people, can lead to surface friction and discoloring – so try to avoid the temptation!
Silver Jewellery
Again you will need to remove the pendant before cleaning the chain.
- Gently rub the silver chain with a jewellery polishing, non-scratch cloth every now and again to promote shine.
